Services Frameworks Architecture News About Us

Successful enterprises usually rely on integrated frameworks across the enterprise to provide capability in process analysis, group collaboration and common vocabularies between project teams and to the executive level and to ensure a level of consistency, management, history and control.

Information Resource Management

Macklin IR's Information Resource Manager tagged "freightWorks" is an information warehousing system designed and enabled to store, retrieve and manage information item assets based on Object Management Group's Meta Object Facility and Common Warehouse Metamodel specifications.

The freightWorks framework currently provides a single user interface called an Information Resource Manager (IRM) to access, display and manage the contents of the information resource repository. The IRM provides the client with access to the contents of the freightWorks repository and the capability to organise and augment the repository and execute process against repository content.

The services that are enabled in the IRM provide for the definition and management of deployable hardware/software configurations, architectural design elements and software component design elements used to implement information interoperability solutions.

Our approach to an information management and architecture-based integration of information resources evolved from our client's needs for model-integrated, architecture centric support for policy-driven implementation and its employment as a service oriented architecture for information interoperability.

The services available through the Information Resource Manager can be employed for prototyping, trials or piloting of Enterprise Architecture Integration initiatives. The service inventory is presented here using the Government of Canada's innovative business transformation strategy (BTEP) which is based on the Zachman Enterprise Architecture Framework.
